The Planning Division administers, prepares, and maintains the provisions of the City's Zoning Ordinance and General Plan. Planning Division staff guides residents and the development community through the regulatory process associated with physical development in Rolling Hills Estates.

The Planning Division provides technical staff services to the Planning Commission, the City Council, and the Environmental Advisory Committee.

The Planning Division strives to preserve and enhance the City's physical, economic, and social environment through implementation of effective, short and long-range planning principles. 

We are now accepting planning applications/plans electronically. Please call 310-377-1577 ext. 105 or visit our website, www.rhe.city/onlinepermits for more information on the submittal process.

Planning staff is available Monday - Thursday 7:30 am to 5:30 pm and Fridays 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
