Payments can be made in person by check, cash, or major credit card at the City of Rolling Hills Estates during regular business hours:
Monday -Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or Fridays 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

There are three options for the buyer, as follows: 

• WAIVE MY/OUR RIGHTS to have Building Permit Records compiled or a Site Inspection performed by the City at my expense prior to the completion of the sale of real property. (No Cost)

• REQUEST BUILDING PERMIT RECORDS compiled by a City Official. (Cost: $200.00) - Turnaround time is approximately one week from date application/payment is received. 

• REQUEST BUILDING PERMIT RECORDS AND AN ON-SITE INSPECTION of the subject site performed by a City official. (Cost: $300.00) - Turnaround time is approximately two weeks from date application/payment is received.

5.52.030 Exemptions.

The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to the following situations:

A. The sale of a newly constructed residential or commercial building for which occupancy occurs less than two years from the date original building permits were issued;

B. Buildings and properties acquired by the city.
