Mayor Velveth Schmitz

Mayor Velveth Schmitz was elected to the Rolling Hills Estates City Council in 2015. She was reelected in 2020 and has served two terms as Mayor. Velveth has been volunteering with the city of Rolling Hills Estates since 2006. She served on the Park & Activities Commission and the Planning Commission, and was Chair of the Planning Commission in 2012. Velveth had also served on several City Committees.

Velveth is a partner and Chief Executive Officer at HireBetter. She was the Chief Operating Officer for Athletes’ Renaissance. She was Vice-President at Invent Ventures, Inc. and head of Business Development at Stockr, Inc. She served as CEO and founder of The Hen and The Bird, Inc. Velveth was a manager in Product Development and Client Management at Transamerica Retirement Services. 

Velveth served as Vice Chair and Commissioner, appointed by Supervisor Janice Hahn, on the Los Angeles County Economy and Efficiency Commission. She served as the Chair of the Roessler Chadwick Foundation Board of Trustees. She has served as a Director and is involved with a variety of non-profit organizations. She volunteers in a variety of roles for the University of California at Berkeley. 

Velveth is the proud mother of two wonderful girls and is married to her college sweetheart.
