The City of RHE is currently constructing a storm drain repair and infiltration project on Palos Verdes Drive East (PVDE), in the bridle trail between Clubview Ln. and Chandler Ranch Rd., and behind the homes on Bridlewood Circle. The purpose of this project is to repair a failed storm drain line(s) and to install three new dry wells behind #9 Bridlewood Circle, which allows for storm water to be partially infiltrated into the ground before being discharged into the area’s storm drain infrastructure system during a large rainstorm.
The purpose of the infiltration dry wells is to alleviate runoff and pollutants from entering Machado Lake in Harbor City, where the northeast side of the Peninsula drains as part of the area’s watershed system. The Project, being constructed under contract by Bonadiman Water Inc. (BWI), should be completed by the end of October/early November and is being funded largely by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), awarded to the City by the Federal Government.
At its meeting of July 9, 2024, the City of Rolling Hills Estates City Council awarded a Public Works contract to Bonadiman Water Inc. (BWI) to perform the above-described work.
The bid opening for this project was held on June 27, 2024. A total of three bids were received for this project.
At its meeting of February 27, 2024, the City of Rolling Hills Estates City Council approved an amendment to Geosyntec Consulting Incorporated’s Professional Services Agreement (PSA) to provide additional engineering services for storm drain repairs on PVDE, in conjunction with their dry well storm drain project on PVDE and Bridlewood Circle.
